There we went last high specifically to attend the Frank Paco Art Ensemble's performance at V&A Waterfront. And what a treat it was. The ensemble was mesmerizing with their sounds while Frank engaged the audience and got some powerful audience participation. These guys were tight, professional, highly competent and impressed greatly. What l especially appreciated was the complete absence of 'showing off', 'getting drunk' and any other malaise that so often becomes the hallmark of our musicians. Buddy had the wonderful innocent air with a smile on his countenance and that twinkle in his eyes that truly captured the crowd while Frank performed so masterfully on the drums. I felt that Airto & Billy Cobham could learn something from his performance. Sylvian was as usual unbelievably amazing in that understated way that always engages and wins over any audience. The others also impressed greatly with their professionalism. Our local musicians need to learn from these guys. It makes one proud to be associated with them.
